| Description: |
Walter Gunter was principal of Oconee Elementary School on Highway 53 during the 70's & 80's. He smiled and greeted his students at the front door daily.
Walter was active in the Civitan Club and other community activities including being an active leader in the early days of Briarwood Baptist Church. He died suddenly of a heart attack in the early eighties.
He was loved by teachers, students and citizens.
