Mrs. Elizabeth Mitchem had taught at Bogart High School before the school was consolidated with Watkinsville in 1956. She then came to Oconee County High School on Mars Hill Road in the fall of 1956. She taught math and was Beta Club Advisor at the new school. She retired in 1971.
I was a member of the first Junior Class at OCHS and was in the Beta Club in which she was the first advisor at the new school.
